Sections and arrangements

Goal: organise a quote into sections, add products to them, and put everything in the order you want it to print.

Who can do it: anyone who can edit the quote. On a view-only or locked quote the editing buttons are disabled or hidden.

The Arrangement tab of the quote editor holds the sections and products. Its toolbar has New Section, Scaffolding, Quick Add Product, Collapse All / Expand All, Copy Mode and Select.

  1. On the Arrangement tab, click New Section.
  2. Type a name for the section and press Enter.

What you should see: a new section at the bottom of the quote, with its name ready to edit.

To rename a section later, click its name. Use the section’s Section button to add a subsection inside it.

Scaffolding adds several empty sections at once, for example one per room.

  1. Click Scaffolding.
  2. In the Build your quote panel, click the room types you want. Each click adds one to the Queued list, numbered like “Bathroom 1”.
  3. Remove any you do not want with the remove button beside it, then click Apply (it reads Apply 2 rooms once you have queued two).

What you should see: a section for each queued room (with any preset subsections), added after your existing sections.

  • Quick Add Product (not shown on a phone) or a section’s Product button opens Select a Product. Search, tick one or more products, and add them. Type custom in the search to get a Custom Code option for something that is not in the catalog.
  • At the bottom of a section that already has lines, use Add product — type to search to search and add inline. Type custom for a blank line.

What you should see: the product appears as a line in the section, with its price filled in.

Each line shows the product, Qty, Price, Discount and Total. The Cost and Margin columns appear only when you choose Show Cost (see Pricing and margins).

  • Change the quantity, unit price or discount percentage directly in the line.
  • Click the note icon (Add note to product) to add a note to a line.
  • Click Delete product to remove it.

If you type a price by hand, a small pencil appears on the price. Click it to clear the manual price. In Cost + Markup mode the line returns to its calculated price (when it has a supplier cost); in Catalog Price mode the price stays as you typed it.

  • Drag a section by its handle to reorder sections, and drag a line by its handle to reorder lines or move them into another section.
  • Or use the row menu on a section or line: Move up, Move down, Move to top, Move to bottom. A line also has Move to section….
  • Select lets you tick several lines, then Move to section, Apply pricing or Delete them together.
  • Copy Mode makes dragging copy a line instead of moving it.

Click Delete section (on a narrow screen it is in the section’s row menu). A “Section removed” message appears with an Undo button.
